That being said, both parties are now looking to score political points instead of trying to find compromise to restore funding. It seems as if they don't care that the majority of the American people want them to find compromise. One administration official was quoted on the Wall Street Journal as not caring how long the shut down dragged on for because they are winning politically. On the Republican side Rand Paul was caught talking politics with Mitch McConnell. What do y'all think of all the politics these politicians are playing? I'd be willing to wager that the majority of them would be horrified by the fact that most of these folks seem to concentrate on politics as opposed to solving problems. Below are both the open mic video and the article regarding the Obama Administration.

Ernesto,
ReplyDeleteThank you for posting this video! I was not aware of it until now. WOW. I do not know where to begin. The hypocrisy has certainly reached new levels (at least as far as we know). To be discussing strategy as to how to come out of this a winner is absurd. My detestation for these politicians was just compounded after viewing this. The new level of their idiocy is also astounding. McConnell is on camera and wired up in an open area and still has the audacity (or the non-awareness) to openly discuss strategy. These are well educated and experienced Machiavellians and yet they make the most basic slips. I agree with you that the government shutdown should not even be an issue. Why is it that if the average household shuts down by deciding to not work it stops making money and is punished by foreclosure or repossession, while on the other hand, if the government shuts down, the politicians keep getting their undeserved checks? Doesn't sound like "Equal justice under law."
